Dragonflies are fascinating creatures that undergo a remarkable transformation as they morph from nymphs into delicate, aerial acrobats. One of the most captivating stages of this metamorphosis is when the dragonfly nymph sheds its exoskeleton, revealing the wings that will enable it to take flight. As the dragonfly emerges, it unfurls its wings, which are initially soft and crumpled. Then, through a process known as sclerotization, the wings harden and gain the strength needed for flight. This transformation from a crawling nymph to a graceful flyer is a testament to the incredible adaptability of nature.
